Can fame and fortune give you happiness?
The truth is you probably can’t get happiness out of being just famous because happiness is a combination of many things.
If your life is full of stress, you are not happy regardless of your fortune and fame.
And fame is among the top producer of anxiety and stress.
In addition, anxiety and stress are not good for your health. When you suffer from anxiety and stress, a lot can be taken out of your family and friends.
Donna Rockwell, a psychologist, says that happiness that resulted from being famous is “fleeting” presumably because there are a lot of negative sides to being famous such as obsessive fans, being followed by photographers everywhere, and being unable to live your life in private.
Harrison Ford said…
“being famous is like walking down the street with a skunk on your head”
Megan Fox has said it can be like…
“being bullied by millions of people constantly”
So clearly, these very rich and very famous people who on the outside have it all don’t think that fame and fortune is all roses.
That doesn’t mean they are not happy however as their happiness may not be derived from their fame nor affected by the negative sides of fame (as we all know deep down, happiness really does come from within).
Fame and fortune may only make you happy for a short period since there is more than fame and money to be constantly happy .
Nothing is possible without the help of others and research shows that it is hard for celebrities to find true friends since they have no idea who to trust.
Therefore, they will end up depressed and stressed hence may end up living an unhappy life.
How I Live A Happier Life Without Fame And Fortune
There is nothing as important as peace of mind. You can’t depend on others to make you happy or give you peace of mind.
At first, I used to struggle to have a good sleep.
I had a lot running in my mind, from work to home activities.
As a respectable woman, I had to prepare children for school and be ready for work.
In the evening, I had to pick the kids from school, prepare food for them, feed them and do the laundry.
With all that, it is hard to maintain yourself from breaking apart.
Then I discovered yoga and meditation through my friend.
They say money can’t buy everything, but I used to pay for a session with others to just meditate in this case.
Each day I wear a brighter smile than the previous day.
What is the secret for me? Yoga, mindfulness as I mentioned above, and also Tai Chi, spirituality, daily gratitude and meditation to name a few things!
That might sound like a lot, and it’s not easy to find time for it all every day, but doing as much of it as I can really helps me personally.
With all the fame and riches that you may desire, it might not bring you the happiness you desire.
However, you may find that doing simply daily routines and practicing gratitude and mindfulness can bring you much more happiness than fame and money.
